NZ Access Number Fixed

NZ Customers,

We’ve been told that our access number provider has fixed the issue down there. We are sorry that this has taken so long. The problem was with our provider’s provider so we had to lean on them to lean on that company.

Please let me know by posting in the comments here if you are still having problems calling the service. We want to make sure that they have in fact gotten everything working again correctly.

I am going to credit all NZ customer with 500 minutes of free calling to make up for the inconveniences that you have had over the last few weeks. Look for that to hit your account in the next couple of days. I am traveling right now, but will get this done once I am settled in.

Thanks for your patience on this one.

India Strike – Customer Service Affected July 5th 2010

India LD telephone and chat customer service will be unavailable from July 4th from 4:30 PM until July 5th 4:30 AM PST because of a strike in India.

A national strike has been declared in India on July 5th from 6 AM to 6 PM IST to protest rising fuel costs. Most modes of public transportation will be unavailable during this time. Many of our customer service agents rely on public transportation to get to and from our offices in Bangalore. As a safety and practical concern, we have decided to cancel our customer service shifts during the strike hours.

We appreciate your patience and hope that you understand our position in looking after our employees. You can submit any customer service queries that you have through our contact form or try our phone support lines once the strike has ended.

Help Us Help You Connect Your Calls

Ever face the problem where a number you have been calling for weeks or months on end stops connecting? You know that the number is good, but IndiaLD is not connecting it like they used to.  You dial again, then again, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

This happens to our customers from time to time, and their reaction is often too get frustrated and then say that IndiaLD has gone to #(*$#$&%! Rightly so. Our job as a phone company is to connect phone calls. I’d be mad if I was paying somebody to do one thing and they can’t get it done. Luckily, this problem is actually easy to fix if you tell us.

We use the best carriers to deliver our calls to India.  I’d love to name them but I can’t. Regardless they are all companies that you have heard of, and they do a great job 99.9% of the time. The other .1% of the time there is an issue. Usually its connecting to a landline in India but sometimes its a mobile number.

We have our carriers’ ears. If a number that you are used to calling stops working, tell us, and we will work directly with our carriers to fix the problem. 9 times out of 10 when this happens, we take the number, test it with the carrier and they find a problem on their end and fix the connection. If they cannot, we’ll change our route for that destination to a carrier that can.

We deliver over a million minutes of calls a day to India. We have great call stats, but some very specific numbers or regions end up having problems that won’t show up in the stats. If you experience a problem with a number you call regularly, tell us and we will troubleshoot the issue. Use our contact form and fill in the section labeled My Call Will Not Connect Or It Drops or email me directly at chris@indiald.com.

When you contact us make sure to include the access number you are using, the destination number you are calling, and whether it is mobile or landline. If it is a landline please include the city name.

Unlike some of the other guys out there, we don’t cut corners, we have not and will not go to $*%&!, and we want to hear from you when you have a problem.

NZ Auckland Pinless Dial Issue

We are having a problem with our Auckland, NZ access number. Our provider down there is not passing the caller ID over to us. Without caller ID, our pinless dial feature will not work.

A ticket has been opened up with our provider and we are pressing them to resolve the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience. All of the other calling features work fine, you just need to enter your account number for the time being.

I will update this post once the issue has been fixed.

Update: This problem has been fixed. Our access number provider in NZ fixed the way they were sending the incoming caller ID so that everything is working again fine.

Contest Is Now Over: The Correct Answer IS The Greenpoint Ave Bridge.

We had two winners who will each get 1000 free minutes added to their accounts. Thanks to everyone who guessed.

Post your guess in the comments. I will keep the comments hidden until Thursday. Everyone who guesses correctly will get 1000 free minutes to call India added to their account.

Please keep your account number out of the comment guess. When guessing, use the same email address on your account on the comment submission form so I can add minutes to your account.

IndiaLD is back in Singapore!

IndiaLD is thrilled to announce that we are back in Singapore. Our new Singapore access number is (65) 3-158-1308.

Singapore had been a very active market for us until we were forced to remove our local access number last year due to local regulations regarding VOIP services. Our access number provider tells us that those regulations have been modified, and that we can resume offering service in Singapore immediately.

You can find our Singapore access number listed along with all of our other India access numbers.

Please put the word out to friends and family in Singapore.

If you were a former customer of IndiaLD living in Singapore, we are ready to welcome you back, and are very excited about offering origination from that country again.

US Access Number Redundancy

We have two access number providers in the US. The second one was added about a month ago to help balance out the amount of voice traffic we are getting everyday. Having two different access number providers also gives us redundant coverage should one of them go down (as was the case yesterday). Unfortunately, I have never told our users that the access numbers on the site come from different companies and what to do should you have problems getting through to one of them.

Here is the deal, this number: (916) 299-1111 and this number: (530) 645-5555 are on two completely different phone networks. Should one of them ever go down, try calling the other one. One of them should be working at all times, and both have enough capacity to handle our average daily call volume all by themselves.

We may add additional phone numbers or change our access providers in the future. Our access number page will always have the most up to date listing of phone numbers on them. Please refer to that page as the final word on what numbers to call.
