Minutes Now Announced On Calls
October 11th, 2009
An announcement of theĀ number of minutes you have on your account has been added to each call. This has been something our users have been asking about for a long time, and we are happy to finally provide it. The feature has been live for about a week, and it looks like a hit because we are getting fewer people checking minutes on the site.
Next up we are working on getting additional access numbers in Australia, adding more easy dial numbers, supporting soft phones, and of course giving away 2 million free minutes for Diwali.
Sorry I have not been as on top of the blog comments as usual. It has been a rough couple of weeks. I will answer outstanding comments today or tomorrow.

Is there any way to disable this, at least on account level. I, personally, find it too irritating (!!)…it increases the latency by those 2 sec. With the low rates (and large packages) you offer don’t know whats the utility.
This was something I really wanted!!…It was really difficult to check the remaining minutes everytime in the site…Thanks a lott!!!
Hi,
I would be glad to see an enhancement added, where i can check my minutes while i dial through a pinless number.
Currently I am able to get this info only when i dial the Access number and call the specific number.
I appreciate if this feature added..
Thanks in advance
Vijay
Is there a way you can make this feature which a user can select or un select. I am not too happy with this message coming up on every call. I think its very irritating.
Chris, I really like the services that you guys offer. I have a question. When do you plan to roll out your smart phone app. I am really waiting for that. do let me know.
For such a wonderful ECONOMIC service, I dont need to know how many left and keep track of it. I think you can take it off, if it adds to your overheads for providing excellent & efficient service.
Wish this Diwali bring lot of Happiness to all of your team.

hi kris
i am impressed by all the new features and upgrades that are being implemented in indiald. the one all of us are really looking for is increased validity, atleast till 45 days. many of my friends started moving to airtel after they announced the 60 validity for 600 min @ $10. i am just wondering if you are considering anything like increased validity or roll over minutes to retain the customers !
since two days due to diwali festival i m trying to call my home in india.i have lots of minutes and my service just renew on 16th of october.still i cant approach to my family by call bcoz of indiald.
hi,
it is a great news, but i think there is some other things that you have to look into. i tried o call a couple of numbers in the last 3 days. but they cannot hear what I am saying. 1st i tot that its a network problem. but wen i tried with a phone card its loud and clear. not only this “we are unable to connect” this makes it unable to tolerate. plz on to it …

We have been working on the problem all weekend. Unfortunately a lot of the issues are on the side of our carriers. The entire system gets burdened during Diwali and the carriers we use see their performance degrade because of all the volume.
@Gaurav
We are close to finishing development on a mobile app for Windows ME.
@PeeJay
Sorry, but this feature is for all users and cannot be disabled per account. This feature has been a big request from our users for a long time and the vast majority want it.
Today only i got IndialD connection and i called India…voice is very clear but the thing is there is no much information provied in the web site…It would be great if you add few options like minutes remaining in my account , call history etc…..
